Feel free to edit the build pages or create your own build page. Q: I would like to contribute suggestions/gameplay tips/new builds. With that said, certain builds hinge heavily on specific traits or gear combinations, so its worth studying and playing the build before you start modifying it. There are a few others but those are my preference for a chest that doesn’t have long tails like a dress or a trench coat. Other sets are the Ardent (PvP tier 1), and both Triumphant sets (both are tier 1 & 2 from WvW). Can I use that instead?Ī: These builds are meant to be templates which you modify to fit your preferences. The only armor set I actually use in gw2 is the medium Mistforged (PvP tier 2). The Druid traitline and NPC druids are products of the Maguuma Jungle, and the asura are a dominant playable race in that region. Q: The build suggests (X weapon/skill/trait) but I find (Y weapon/skill/trait) more fun to use. 'Professor Sprout.1560' said:I'd say that the asura are very lore-friendly when it comes to the class (I may be biased, since my ranger is one). If you aren't, you can always visit an Armorsmith or Weaponsmith which always offer basic gear within your level range. If you start finding story missions/normal enemies difficult, make sure you're wearing gear appropriate to your level. Instead, you should try out different weapons, skills, and traits to learn how they work. Ranger is a profession of defenders of nature who tame and train animal companions, pets, as their profession mechanic. What should I do?Ī: Under level 80 you shouldn't worry about running the absolute best build. Q: I haven't reached level 80 and don't have these skills/traits unlocked. Some builds will not function without certain traits, so its worth looking into. You can still run a build that's close to the recommended build, but you should work your way up to the right gear/traits eventually. Having the right gear and traits is important for maximizing a build's potential. All professions except the engineer and revenant have access to a class-specific training line containing at least four signets. During recharge, the character loses the benefits of the passive effects. Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2, ArenaNet, NCsoft, the Interlocking NC Logo, and. Can I still play it?Ī: Yes, but your effectiveness will be limited. A Signet is a type of slot skills that grants a passive effect while equipped and additional benefits when activated. Marksmanship Skirmishing Wilderness Survival Nature. Q: I don't have the right stats/runes/sigils/unlocked traits for this build. When joining a dungeon, fractal, or raid group, you should play a Fractal or Raid build. Q: Can I play these builds in dungeons, fractals, and/or raids?Ī: No, these builds are for open world. Hey thanks for this nice reply, I do like what you said about having more variety. What are CC and Breakbars? Frequently Asked Questions In your situation I'd probably make the ranger female just to have more variety, but if you've got an idea in mind which needs to be male there's no reason to force yourself to pick something different. (The main exceptions are when I decided to fill out my characters so I had at least 1 of each race/gender, so I deliberately made a male human and asura, but that just meant that was part of my starting point and I fit other stuff to it.) They can be classified by their family, such as birds, canines, moas, bears, jellyfish, etc and also the environment in which they can live: land, aquatic. There are currently 60 unique pets in the game. Rangers and their pets fight as a team, and are always together. At some point I'll realise I'm imagining them either male or female and then that's what I pick. Pets are the NPC allies that constitute the ranger 's profession mechanic. I start 'creating' them in my head long before I go into the character creator in the game - I take whatever starting point I have for a new character (which can be anything from a profession or elite spec to a theme like 'pirate' or even a colour scheme) and start imagining what kind of person they would be. With a few exceptions gender is pretty arbitrary for my characters.
